I know its illegal to get the fish imported to the US, but is it illegal to buy it from someone who has it already in the US?

im pretty sure its not illegal to purcahse it from within the US if its been within the borders already and breed by that person. importing is def illegal but this is questionable
i think it's still illegal.. even if you had an asian long before the ban was approved and it had children after the ban and the children are sold, the asians would still be illegal.. that's the law.. lol
my question is what if you had one before the ban and for some reason couldn't keep it . what would aomeone do with it then?
All captive bred asian aros are to have microchips and matching paperwork. Importing, purchasing, owning/keeping, selling, or transporting asian arowana in the United states is illegal without the proper papers.
