I have had this b. parrot for 4 years, from fairly small to about 5-6 inches now. After doing some research last night, I think shes a cross between a red devil and maybe a b. parrot, but she doesn't look like any of them.
She currently lives alone in a 55 gallon tank.

About the teeth. Yesterday, when I was feeding her, I noticed some black specs in her mouth. Upon closer inspection, they're teeth. I have never noticed teeth before, but it appears she has a top and bottom row of little black pointy teeth. From what I can see, its 4 on the top and 4 on the bottom.
My questions are:
1. Has she reached some sort of milestone in life and now the teeth have appeared?
2. Has she always had the teeth but they've been under the gums?
3. Did changing her food change her mouth? I changed her food, from a flake to a pellet. (She killed all her tank mates, the flaked food was for the "real b. parrot" with a non-closing mouth)
4. Did she start showing the teeth to eat the pelleted food better?

I'm all over the place with this because it seems so weird to me, shes never had teeth before. She bit me a few months ago and didn't break the skin, and the "bite mark" didn't have any tooth marks in it.

Its hard to see her teeth, but those two little black specs are her front teeth! Like she has little bucktoothed fangs!

Any help is greatly appreciated! I want to learn more about her, shes the best fish I've ever had. If anyone has an ideas of what she is, that would be great too!

If its a new thing, it could be an infection of sorts; potentially. Or it could very well be you just havent noticed the teeth before. Beautiful BP btw

They do have teeth maybe they have just grown more noticeable. There is an eight inch one at my favorite fish store the shape of a football and it's teeth are very noticeable.

Should pick that bad boy up next time you're in! Big BP's are awesome, plus it takes years to grow them that size lol

Thanks! So maybe shes just reached the size where her teeth are noticeable?

If there is any sort of infection, how would I tell and what would I do for her? Anyone know the number to a good fish dentist? LOL

No, she's not sick at all haha.

When my red devil got around 8" I noticed his teeth too. I hadn't noticed then before. I was told its and age/size thing. If you really keep an eye on then over time you'll notice some come and go lol.
