okay i just bought a common wolf, i noticed that there was someone saying that they feed there wolf algae discs also was wondering if they would eat any of the left over food i had from various fish i have owned so far. i have wardley shrimp pellets, wardley algae discs, tetra blood worms (freeze dried),hikari brine shrimp(cubes basically), tetra color tropical flakes. i know they can eat feeder fish(which i am trying to avoid), i know they will eat worms(night crawlers), along with crayfish. mainly trying to see if i have to buy more stuff or what.

Any water meat based foods. Predatory fish can't digest vegatable based food very well and most of it will come out the other end and create more waist.

Carnivore Pellets are good and contain nutrients that other foods may lack. I would feed fish fillet, Mussels and shrimp meat, Earthworms or nightcrawlers and non vegaterian pellets if they will eat them.

yea more money spent on fish food then....

I find it the other way really, I buy fish fillet from the supermarket and cut it into feeding size chunks rap them in cling film and freeze it, use it as required. I get raw king prawn from the supermacket as well, again separate them in cling firm and freeze. They are very difficult to separate once frozen, It's alot cheaper than buying the frozen foods from the LFS

i used to feed hikari brine / bloodworm and market prawn, it always take it in whole cube

okay, thats good as long as i know i have food to hold him over for a couple days. so i can get my pay check.

edit:  feed him a brine cube bastered didn't even look at it.but thats probably, cause the previous place that has had him since birth(place i bought him from breeds them) was feeding him feeders. so i think this will be a long road to break him of the feeder fish routine.

Try a whole pacific smelt. I used to have a common wolf that was been eating live feeders. When I bought it, it won't eat anything. I dangled a whole pacific smelt and it grabbed it and ate it. Been feeding it whole pacific smelt till I stop dangling the smelt and just drop it in front of the wolf for it to grab it. It later got used to it till it accept even cut up smelt and tilapia fillet.

thank you for that tip, whats the cling film you speak of don't think i have ever heard of that?

Not sure what you would call it. It's a common household kitchin product, it's a role of clear plastic material that you use to wrap food. It normally clings onto the food.
