I was wondering if a DIY uv was possible and it seems people think that it isn't cost effective, however, after some research I think it would be.
a 114watt aqua-uv is priced at about 650$
If one was to buy all the parts separately except for the housing it comes to about 300$, the housing is made of 2'' pvc and can easily be replicated but the threads on the housing would probably have to be made on a lathe
however my question has to do with the housing itself, are the pvc crosses open or closed? by that I mean: is the water directed in a zigzag-like motion in the unit so that it goes over the lamps one at a time or does the water just flow freely undirected around in unit?
let me know what you think!
