i had a pink female convicts and a balck convict that tried to breed in my 75 and were agressive to my jd's, so i threw them in a 10 gallon and laid eggs almost immediately they use to be red for maybe 2 days and are changing over to white, did the male fertilize them or are they "dead" eggs

I'm no expert, but from what I understand if they turn white they are dead, and they should be eaten by either the male or female. I'm in the process of trying to breed cons myself. I have mine in a 10 gallon aso f now. Trying to fix a 29 gallon at the moment to move them into.

Not necessarily. Although not convicts, I've two separate breeding pairs of jewels whose white eggs did, in fact, become little guys (and gals). Maybe there's a DEGREE of whiteness to pay attention to. But I really didn't expect the clouds that followed!

yea they prolly layed them down on monday, and maybe started turning white last night, prolly more than 2/3rds white now, there both still guarding them the male is bumping the glass at the fish in the adjacent tank, hopefully ill get some, little wigglers, get some store credit some feeders for my jd's
