hi all i went to my lfs today and pickd up 3 serprea tetras for my 55 gal tank whichalso holds 1 male convict 1 parrot cichlid and 2 gouramis no im hoping they will not get eaten these are the first dither fish im going to use now question is will they lastthe male convict is fully grown and if all goes well im thinking geting another cichlid what do you guys recoomend with wat i already have i kia want something that gets a nice size and has some color to it like a peacock or a frontosa ? an suggestions would be really appraicted

wouldn't really add more cichlids, and as for dithers it should work fine, and if not go with some more sturdy dithers like giant danios instead. Also, definitely no on the frontosa

Are you cichlids shy? Generally you don't need a dither fish for cichlids. Now target fish for aggression thats another story.

doesnt sound like u need dither fish in that tank. seems like just a well stocked tank. i dont think u would need to curb aggression with that stock.

if there is enough agression where a dither is needed id go for a barb, either tinfoil or iridescent

First off, what size is your tank. im surprised youre not already seeing some aggression from your convict, probably because you didnt mention a female of the species, I would really like to know that before i comment further.
