i'm planning out a new DIY tank for my rays and have looked into thickness calculations and am wondering if they are correct or i am mistaking something.
for the tank, i'm not sure which i am more inclined to go with, sizewise.
a) 72L x 36W x 36H (450g or so)
or
b) 72L x 48W x 36H (540ish)
i'm thinking of the bigger footprint for the rays.
now, i would prefer to do the tank in acrylic (closed top for all intents and purposes, prefer no outside reinforcing but obviously would if need be). is this possible and if so, what thickness of acrylic should i be looking for?
what type of acrylic should i be using as well? i heard no for lexan?
if not able to use acrylic, i can go the glass route. what thickness would i be striving for with glass?
i will also need to be building a 100g sump, but that should not be a problem as it would be well reinforced with all of the dividers. any advice on thickness for the sump?
thanks in advance guys and girls.
