I have a horizontal drilled overflow, I have been using overflow boxes, which have been working well and kept the noise fairly low. I had a cleaning accident and broke one of the boxes, they where DIY ones.
Do you think that a 90 turned facing up will be loud?
My though was have the 90 facing up and a small section of pip with slices down it extending from the 90 to the top of the tank. Kind of like a DIY strainer.
Second question how can I clean off excess silicone off acrylic with the least amount of scratching? I was thinking of using a plastic razor, and having a buffing kit handy for the inevitable scratches.
