I have had my 2262 running for about 24 hours now and this afternoon I noticed it was emiting this "whinning" noise. After turning off the filter multiple time's with no difference in the noise, I started checking the lines for leaks. When I got to the spray bar, I removed that little end cap thing that stops the water from blowing out the end and the whinning stopped. So I guess it was back pressure through the pump that was causing the whinning.
So, my question is....... Should I drill out the holes on the spray bar to allow more flow to escape and reduce the back pressure?
Or is there another DIY mod to fix this?

I was going to make a thread about this. I want to drill addition holes to keep backpressure to a minimum but then again its got german engineering so they gotta know what they are doing. These are some tried and proven filters !

Funny was gonna post same question I tried plugging last hole stopped then started again not as loud unpllugged still hear it slightly but not like when it first started if anyone has info we would appreciate it.

Just a random thought, but could it be caused by a burr in the holes, maybe a little smoothing with a drill bit or needle file might help?

Just thinking if the hole isn`t nice & smooth it could act like a penny whistle?

The sound I was hearing was comming from the pump itself. Not the spray bar.
But I took the spray bar out of the tank and drilled 8 new holes in it.
One in-between each existing hole to allow more flow to escape from the bar.
Problem solved. No more noise.
Quiet as a mouse again.:nilly:

I turned my spray bar more at an angle down and it made it quiet down bit... now got like a whirpool thiing going on above it either way still got good filtration right lol but I think a little more adjustment will fix this.

A spray bar is usually designed to increase system pressure so that it can...well.... spray. I would drill out the original holes large one size at a time.

Just becaue it was made by the Germans, doesn't mean its built with common sense. 2260 spray bar with a 2262 pump? Doesn't make sence. Even more pressure with little increase in output flow.

The best thing you could do is REMOVE the spray bar to achieve maximum flow. IF you like the spray bar, drill the holes out.

I cant find any other thread about this problem. So I dont know how many other's out there experienced this with there 2262.
But I did drill new holes in my spray bar, and it fixed the problem.

And I agree with Jgray. Why would they include such a short spray bar with small holes that was made for a filter with half the pumping power.
Seems like it should of been upgraded with the pump.

I had exactly the same problem with the spray bar that came with my 2213. I went insane trying to find where it was coming from. In the end I found putting one of the spare black clips over a hole got rid of it.
