If you us a ground probe will it protect yourself and the other fish in the tank from an electric fish?

I dont think it would matter for BGK's and such ,but I wonder if it would help with Electric catfish and the amazon electric eel.

Damn, but they cause the same damage.

Yes they create weak electric sensory currents.

BGK create electric waves to locate predators and prey in the muddy Amazon, since they are practically blind and it's too turbid to see anyways

Thanks for the lesson, this is why I love MFK. So we have decided that a ground probe won't help, how do people keep electric fish? not like you can put up a dived to keep the current away.

If you don't aggravate them, they won't shock you badly. Also, only put one arm at a time in the tank and you'll avoid the heart-stopping shock of lore. The only electrically dangerous freshwater fish I know of are the electric eel and electric catfish. Mormyrids and possibly some cats may use it for directionality, but cannot shock you.

The electric eel and catfish is why I was hoping that providing a quicker way for the electricity to get to the ground than through me. Like having a grounding probe and be standing on a nice and thick rubber mat while doing tank matenance.
