i have some 1.5-2" juvies and as they have started to get larger i noticed that the ones that seem to be developing a kok have "cracked" looking heads. almost like the scales are scratched or scuffed. my largest has it most noticably but he also has the larges bump. what is this?

Need a pic. He's not jumping up and hitting the lid with it or anything is he? A FH's kok can/will have scribbled color lines that run through it.
