question about FHS

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Maybe you should try asking this in the Hybrid section.;)

How long before you can tell? You should be able to tell now if you're not blind. Not meant too sarcastically, but a kok is growth that you should be able to notice. I've found that looking at mine every day (I also have a FH fry), it's tough to see the difference. It might help to snap a pic of him each week and do a comparison based on that. How big is yours? It's tough to tell from the avatar pic.

mines about 2.2 inches i guess ahah

depends on genetics, some wont develop a nuchal hump at all.

low quality ones will not develop much of one at all, and to be honest, from your avatar pic your appears to be fairly low on the quality scale, but i would not get rid of him, but i personally dont give a rats a** about the quality of my fish in that sense, give him a chance, hes still small.

a lot of flowerhorn don't grow a kok. its all in the genes. honestly, yours doesn't look high grade. it may not come out with a kok. but hard to tell. only 2" right now...you may be surprised in the future.

i would say that ur fry may get a nice lil kok at about 5-6inches but he wont be a kokster i have fry that are 1-1.5 inches that are showing kok so this should help u out hey u may have a female right there ;)

haha yeah. thanks.. i have another fry too but its at my girls house that one has nice color. but idk well see how it turns out thanks.

if the fh has kok potential then it will grow. some of the flowerhorn eventually dont grow kok even though the parents have it so its all in the matter of waiting to find out.
