Question about filter media?

can i use pillow stuffings as filter media? Also tell me any other kind of home sponge or home accessories that can be used as filter media

pillow stuffing is fine as long as it doesnt have the fire retardant and mold blockers.
best DIY media IMO is plastic pot scrubbies.

Actually pillow stuffing will only be good for mechanical use.

Another vote for plastic pot scrubbies. I even let them float on the surface of fry tanks.

I've used plenty of simple poly pillow stuffing, or just gotten the pillows and cut them open. And +1 on pot "scrubbies." Not my thing since my filters already have plenty of media, but I've seen a number of people use them for cheap bio.

I've been doing this so long I forget that some folk don't always know the difference between bio and mechanical filtration media lol

Try carbon to clear the water up

Testing your water parameters is the best thing to do because it may be other reasons the water is blurry. Yes the pillow stuffing will help clear it up.
