question about floating plants

I keep several types of floating plants in my tanks (frogbit,duck weed,spangles and water sprite) does anyone have suggestions for keeping these plants out from under the water flow coming out of HOB filters?

I always kept a divider on the surface of my tank with a small plastic piece so the duckweed wouldn't spread to the side with the HOB out flow. I hated it when it would go near the outflow, shoot down under water then get sucked up by the intake. Then I'd be stuck cleaning all of it out of the filter.

one of the reasons for my question............I hate having to clean the plants off the intakes every day.

You can make a sort of plant corral using suction cups and fishing line at the top of your tank.
