I am currently purchasing my first large tank. It is a 180g. It is coming with 2 Fluval 404's and I was wondering if that will be enough filtration. It is going to have African Cichlids in it so I know I do need a lot of filtration. Let me know what you guys think.

As long as you clean them out regularly, you should be fine. If you want to be extra cautious, go ahead and get more filtration. There is, however, a point of diminishing return. At some point, more filters just = more to clean.

two 404's is good.. maybe add a couple foam filters to be on the safe side. it may be less expensive to use a single FX5 instead of 2 404's. and an FX5 would actually be MORE filtration.

add acouple of sponge filters , that will really improve bio filtration
