I was getting ready to place an order online for some food products, and wanted to get some opinions about it.

I have a 55 with a bunch of guppies/platys, and have been feeding them an assortment of tubifex, brine shrimp, and boodworms, all freeze dried. I quit doing the flakes because they were getting pretty messy in the tank with the amount of fish, etc. And now i have a sandy bottom, which is slightly harder to clean than gravel.

Is this an ok diet? I just rotate one type of food each day. Are flakes necessary? Is there anything else i can add to this diet to improve their health/coloring?

well I would feed them spirinula flakes, they are not canivorous fish. If you feed them slowly and make sure it all gets eaten this should not be any messier than the foods you listed. I'm guessing they all come up to the top to eat so just feed them slower.

They need some vegi matter in their diet so give them freeze dried algae. My fish love that and its really easy. 10 bucks last me about 2 weeks and I get a free vegi clip everytime.

What is this freeze dried algae? Is this like algae wafers? One of the stores i buy from (petblvd.com) has some of this freeze dried stuff but i believe it is for marine fish? These wafers usually sink to the bottom. Where are you getting yours from?
