Does anyone use chicken or beef hearts that you can buy in the local supermarket. Is there anything i need to know before purchasing and feeding. As my mini-monsters continue to grow I'm looking for alternatives to high priced LFS food.

They're both widely used as fish food. Just clean them really well when you're cutting them up for your fish. Remove as much fat and blood clots as possible.
Keep in mind that these animals may have been hormone fed. If you're breeding (or planning on breeding) any of your fish, I would avoid using farmed mammalian organs.

Cut up the beefheart into useable size chunks and put in a ice cube tray, just knock it out, hey persto instant yummyness.
