question about good breeding

Does the beeding of the fish matter as far as how long the fish will live? Does the pet store that you buy the fish from matter? What would you all say your fish live to (in years) if the store you bought the fish from is a good pet store. Not the chain stores but a good quality aquarium store compare to if you bought the fish from say the Tangled in Cichlids web site.

I'm a bit confused, are you asking if breeding effects how long a fish will live? And if the quality of fish allows them to breed and live longer? If so then not always, some breeders choose to breed their fish when young and allow them to retire to a gender specific tank when older which gives them a good life but some breeders (not many) choose to keep breeding their fish until they are very old which actually has an impact on vitality and health of fry. And yes for sure if they are better quality they will be healthier but remember that even low quality fish if cared for properly can become better quality but maybe just not perfect.
 
I think the OP is asking how much a good strain can affect longevity. I'm sure it has an effect, as does the conditions they're kept in as juvies, what they're fed their entire lives, etc. etc. etc. Many CA/SA can push a decade, from what I've heard, though it really depends on the fish.

I am guessing you are brand new to cichlids..........The quality of fish is guaranteed to be stronger if bought from a repuable wholesaler such as TangledUpInCichlids...........I live in San Francisco, I have fresh supply of awsome strains coming in every week..........Read aup a little more on what you want to breed.........
