I have had my supposedly l114 for awhile now. And I have noticed that the tail has no spots.on it like most of the other ones I have seen. It is solid orange could it be a l600 instead try to get pics later hides alot

Pics will help. How big ( old) is the fish? Juvi 114's can have little to no spots on the tail. Develops with age. L600's and L114's will breed as well. Post some pics and I'm sure someone will jump in to help

They are actually the same fish. I have had juvies with spots on the tail and without. Some would keep them some had an all orange tail then they would either keep the all orange tail or get spots as adults. I have had enough of them to be convinced they are the same fish. I now have an 11 inch male and a 7 inch female with some dithers that I'am trying to breed without luck LOL. P.S. As they approach adulthood they will hide a lot less.

I'm not convinced they are the same fish. They look totally different from one another. It's really easy to tell them apart. I have had many of both and in no way have they looked alike. From body shape to pattern they were different.

I agree, although the offspring of the two blurs the lines a bit....

The are different

See for yourself..

I don't get your comment. So depending on lights and gravel they will look like either one?
I have had both and they are so different you could tell which is which from the other end if the room.
114 is so common it's not even funny. 600 don't pop up that often and when they do they are about 4x the price if not more.
They really need to look at these fish again and revise what they have out there.
Datz is not perfect.

Ok your one of those guys that is never wrong. I read your bullcrap about ph also. Most fish in the hobby are tank raised therefore ph not an issue. I have bred the "impossible" furcifers in tap water, been doing the hobby longer than you and I wonder how many L-114's you sold as L-600's. Just for you Jackson they are differant fish. By the way you know what cf even stands for that is in the scientific name of the L-114?

L114 and L600 are slightly different, they are caught in totally different rivers that are quite far apart from each other. At 6" or more it is very easy to tell the difference between L600 and L114. They are indeed NOT the same fish.

Saying L114 & L600 are the same is sort of like saying L330 and L190 are the same fish.

Okay Allan spawned furcifers don't argue with him.
Another one comparing cichlids to catfish/plecos. I don't get it!

I never said you're wrong Allan. I just think your comments are ridiculous. Like you do mine. I'm fine with that. It's obvious you took offense to me questioning your colour blindness.
I also never said I'm right. You took this to another level.

My comments on hard water not ph are in no way far fetched.
I've played around with water parameters and I've found that trying to maintain parameters as close to their natural environment ( wishful thinking ) does have a greater positive effect than keeping them in straight hard tap water. They are more vibrant and they have shown/show a large increase in growth.
Keeping them in hard water is only surving the keepers well making maintenance easier.

I just don't believe in keeping plecos or any fish from softer water that are WC not TR ( if you did not know majority of plecos are not TR ) in hard water and vise versa. There are many who agree and many who don't.
I did not say it can't be done. I used to do the same myself.
Like I said to each their own.
Plus bringing up another thread is childish buddy. I guess you keep your plecos in hard water as well.
It's all a mentality thing. The fish will adjust because we are lazy.

Old world enthusiast don't believe in keeping old worlds in soft water. They are not full of crap.

As for the fish I sold not a single one was misidentified. Another thing is when I sold my psueda off I was asking way below the price being asked by others selling theirs off at the same time. I also sold the majority of them to people I associate with on a personal level not through the Internet. So I can't run and hide if I did rip them off which I did not do in any way.

WOW you're full of assumption it's a sickness.

Keep doing the hobby hard Allan. Just don't hurt yourself.

I'm done high jacking Plecokings thread just to entertain you.

Plecoking- post some pics as mentioned that's the only way to get a positive ID. These fish do not look them same.
