I've seen some positives for lava rock in freshwater sumps and some negatives for lava rock in saltwater. There always seems to be an exception to those trends. Anyone have a definitive answer? My tank is set at a salinity of 1.019-20. I picked up a bag of red lava rock from lowes today and just finished rinsing it off. I was hoping to fill up my sump and remove the filtration sock now that my water has cleared up after the sand I added. Before I drop it in tomorrow is there anything I should worry about? The tank inhabitants are a couple of mumichugs to get the cycle going.
