i have an old oscar that developed popeye , mostly because i neglected the tank over some time due to my busy life . anyway ive tried getting the tank back to perfect with plenty of waterchanges and salt, now its time for medication. so my quandry is i dont have a medical tank and he is in a 180 with a arowanna, p-bass and ornate . will the antibiotics effect the other fish ? thanks

What size is the Oscar? I would put him in a 40g heated plastic tote before I would medicate a 180! M2 will also kill off all of your beneficial bacteria and cause your tank to cycle all over again. The money you spend on the tote is money saved on medications and headaches! My 2 cents.
Well the old girl is about 14-16" in size and 7 years old . I've read that maracyn does not interfere with the nitrogen cycle but you cant always believe everything you read i guess. I have a 75 gal tank open but no heater to put in it i also have 3 kids at christmas time so extra cash is a problem
A plastic tote and heater or a heater for the 75 won't run you more than $20.
