Hi guys.

How long do you think can I keep a motoro in a 2ft width tank. 6foot long and 2.5ft high. lets say I keep water in pristine condition and I also feed well.

1-1.5 years depending on feeding and WC regimen.

Maybe longer depending on male or female and the individual ray itself. Also depends on if you get a pup or a 8" ray. If you got a pup you could keep it in there for probably close to 3 years. Some stay smaller and some get really big. Just be prepared to go bigger down the road.

i have 2 motoro male n female and a female hystrix in a 125 thats 18 inch wide for about..hmmm let say 5 months and they haven't grown much there are all around 7inch.. and a 180 is were they will go. honestly i feed my guys a lot n large water changes and they really dnt grow that fast i must say... it might just be the rays i have idk the hysrix all tho i just recently got a week ago so i dnt know about her...my personal opinion is a ray around 6inch in a 180 would last u around 2 years.. good luck

I plan to get a pup. like 5-6inches.

I would think one year there about. After which u need to upsize
into a bigger tank.
Bear in mind it can grow abt 1" per month.

I just pulled a motoro pup about 6 months old and 6' disc out of my pup/subadult tank into a 300 gal. In one month it gained 3". It was in my pup/subadult tank too long and never got the room it needed to grow. A female to grow right needs bigger than you have after a year, a male can go longer. They can live probably for a number of years more with good water and lots of attention in your tank, but is your goal a healthy ray or a living corpse for a few years?
