question about my new mystery heater

Looks like an older model of a Marineland heater. If it is, it's definitely submersible, but it looks like a submersible heater no matter what brand it is.
 
it doesnt have a brand name on it or anything indicating how far in the water i can put it...the guy who sold it didnt give me any suction cups or anything to keep it out of the water any...shud i give it a try?
 
Looks like some old heaters I have. I'm sure it's submersible. Go for it:)

I had one of these years ago. I have mine totally submersed
