Well let me start by saying when I started the hobby I purchased a common Pleco like I think most of you guys did .. but after both died because they were curious about the black vortex of Hell called the power head, I sort of didn't care much about ever gettin any again.. well that was a few years back and for about 8 months I was really interested in gettin a Royal Pleco because I find them to be really good Looking and interesting! so I purchased one a few days back and let me tell you that I am happy that I have it.. it's in a 29gal for now with a AC110..the 29 gal is a bit crowded but he is swimming about and I feed it Zuc, spinach and he eats and im happy! BUT I didnt know this pleco Craps like a factory... my sand is covered in his poop.. I cant keep up cleaning it... so my question is can I put him in my 150 without risking eating my sev's eggs??? I know some pleco's eats eggs..but I wanted to know from some one who's knows this better than me!

Plecos are opportunistic grazers omnivore's....although a Royals main diet consists of plants , wood (Aufwuchs), they will eat meat...In which fish eggs are considered a delicacy...

Put him in the 150 the bio load in the 29 is not conducive to his overall long term health

I have 3 Royals smallest one is 8" largest is a good 11 to 12"...If I let them they would eat a Yam a day...Lots of orange piles everywhere..LOL..I change 30 to 50% of the water twice a week, plus I'm overfiltered to the max....:headbang2FX5 and Ehiem 2028 take care of the mech filteration and then a custom 1200 GPH sump takes care of the bio.. A Seio 1500 on a timer to keep the bottom clean..(bare bottomed grow out tank)
