I have had my retics stingray for about 4 weeks when I brought him home there was a little white stuff on the tip of his tail, then it went away, I have now noticed his tail is significantly shorter thAn it was to begin with. Some days the tip is white some days it looks normal in color His tank mates are 2 brisel nose plecos there 5 fry( very smAll) 4 silver dollars, a silver tiped black fin shark, a bkg ( 4 inches) an Angelicus Botia Loach I have never saw any of these fish picking on the ray. Could this be some type of fungus or which fish do you think would be responsible

I'm not sure he is eat enough, he eat 3-4 very small pices of nightcrawler a day and I put and I have add some black warms twice but where they berrow in the sand I'm having trouble fig out when to add more and if he is eating them

Sounds like fungus .

Unless you dont have a night vision video .. you dont know whats going on when lights are out and in complete darkness.
Could be fish picking at the tail or bad quality water

keep your water permaeters clean... ime BGK's can be sassy buggers.. as can loaches ect... imo it broke its tail during transport (very common one of mine has not much more then a stump) It can take awhile to heal just watch out for infection. as for the blackworms you will see them "peeking" up out of the substrate.. your ray will dig around happily for them to eat. w/ new/young ones I fed 1/4lb approx. 1x a week or more they can and will eat a lot once they settle in for their size. also feed him as much as he'll eat in a sitting.. make sure your nightcrawlers are being cut-up small as ime its better to feed a bunch of small pieces then a few bigger pieces.. they eat more w/ the smaller ones (2-3 per sitting opposed to 1-2 sometimes)

At least this is what I noticed in the past few years keeping them now. ime they are also best kept alone or w/ other retics the first few monthes to build them up health wise ect before adding/moving them in w/ tank-mates.
