I was just wondering if I should be concerned that one of my new bass seems to pin the other one in the top corner of the tank. I haven't witness much outward aggression but the occasional mouthing and posturing. It just seems like the one never moves. I know bass get territorial but if this will continue to be a problem that will result in one fish dying I would rather separate them now. Another thing that I was questioning was my lighting. Is conventional tropical fish lighting too abrasive for largemouths. Maybe I should go with something less bright, and if so does anyone have any opinions on a good bulb. Thanks for any advice ahead of time.

I've never thought of trying more than one LMB on a tank. Sounds like a disaster in the making to me, but I'm no expert, really. I agree, get rid of one. Keep the aggressor.

i tried it with smallmouth together they killed each other largemouth together they killed each other large and smallmouth together they killed each other it just doesnt work out in a small space...

put a divider in the tank... Largemouth will fight each other and every other fish in the tank once it decides that is his home now...
Largemouth bass will bark at you, unfortunately fish can make those kind of sound, but they try..
My bass would even attack nets, tubes, whatever i stick in the tank... Mine even attacks fish thats bigger them, so u can't keep them with any other fish... My pet bass has been with me over 3 years now... The only thing bad about them is can't keep them with other fish... they get their own tank or put a divider in there...

also the new fish is going to be the submissive one, even if its a little bigger than the other bass that has been in the tank for a while... He already claim that tank as his space.

Awesome. I'm thinking about keeping the submissive one though. He's smaller so he can hang out with me longer. The meek shall inherit the tank. You guys are sure though, one will die if they stay together? Also any of you bass keepers have any recommendations on lighting? Thanks for the comments.

fairly low light, nothing on the extreme end of the spectrum. something like natural sunlight bulbs. Oh, and yeah one will def end up wedged in the others mouth.

Excellent, thank you. This dude is out of here. He's the punchy one. Pond life won't be so bad, maybe he can mend his ways. I appreciate the advice on the bulbs. We are going to work this out.
