Question about nyererei

Ok i have a group of 4 nyererei 2m/2f not sure the location....What can i keep with these fish that isnt mbuna and wont cross breed??? Once this female spits and fry grow up im keeping most of the females to put back into the tank.

Should also mention they are in a 55g tank. Right now i have white top hara's and yellow labs in with them but i want something that is NOT mbuna if i can....And relativly easy to get so to say...
 
You could try and keep it with some haplochromis and see how they do, but it is always a crap shoot.
 
The males will still color up. They will want to fight for dominance every now and then and they color up nicely when they fight

You can keep them with peacocks try lemon jakes or red peacocks, also yellow blaze z rocks which is a hap. The males will color up with or without females. There will be some chasing and sparring but nothing like crazy mbuna. Ive got a pair of lemon jakes pair of red peacocks and a trio of yellow blaze z rock haps in with a trio of petricola catfish. The tank is a 50 breeder and 2 male peacocks and 1 yellow blaze are completely colored up.This tank is very peaceful except for some chasing out of territories once in awhile. I have 8 good size peices of texas holey rock in the center of the tank that the fish love.They are also sub adults 4 inches on average.
