Okay guys, this is a little different than would this be okay in my tank etc... I am curious about something though. Is it possible for fish to... how do i say this without sounding like a toal noob... develop "friendships" for a lack of better words? I ask because I put my 2 juvies in a 55g grow out tank a few months ago.. The tank already had a pretty large "rainbow shark" in it, that was at the time much much larger than my bass. I got these guys at about 1 inch. Now, these guys have easily doubled his size, however NEVER bother him. He actually at times can be seen chasing them around. At one point he was much larger than them obviously. Now, if I drop any other type of fish in there, they go nuts and either bully it to death, or straight up eat it. I dropped in a few shiners that I had left over after fishing one day, and they were just a little bit smaller than the shark, not by much, and they ate them up right away.

Is it something about the shark that they think they cant eat or mess with him yet? Or is it that they really dont mind it, and maybe would never eat it if I transferred him into the larger tank with them?

I do keep these guys well fed at all times, but still, if i drop large feeders in (which i RARELY do because theyre on frozen) they destroy them.
