heythere, i live in SC and have a pond/tank outside that is about 300 gallons with a sand bottom and ive recently added many new fish. i was wondering if there would be any local plants that i could plant in it that might help filter the water in addition to my filter

can you buy small mangroves? isnt that a tree? i need something that is going to stay completely submerged

Got any ponds or lakes near by? Take a road trip with a cooler & bring a bunch of whatever is growing home with you.

If he does that he will end up with every parasite he can ever want. Plus its iffy that whatever he digs up won't cause a mess in his pond since hes taking out everything thats a higher lifeform.

If he's got an outdoor pond he's gonna have to deal with all those parasites anyway. Besides, that is a manageable problem. Buy some Flourish Excel and give the plants a dip. At full strength the Excel will kill everything but the plants. Rinse them off before placing in the pond though.
