Question about potential new additions

I'm looking at another acara (male) and one honduran red point. The RP won't be sexed so would it potentially hybridize with my rainbow cichlid? I'm not 100 percent sure about Pepper being male ( I THINK he is based on size). The RP would be a growout and is unsexed.
 
I’m not sure. The two have the potential to breed, being so closely related, but I’ve never heard of a cross breed. They probably won’t, but in the event it happens, you would potentially be making rainbow cichlid history. Do you have any pics of the rainbow for sexing?
 
I should add that I'm not looking to hybridize...waiting for an answer from the seller about the RP. It may be too small for sexing.

Thanks! She only recently has colored up from spending the first few months gray, so I’m very happy to see the progress.

I’d say go for it with the hrp. I’ve only had my con for a short time, but it’s one of my favorite fish. Almost rivals my bp in personality, almost.
