I just bought a Koralia Magnum 8 Powerhead which gives out 3200gph of circulation. I need some advice on where to put the powerhead in my 240 so i can get the best flow for the cichla. should it be towards the top to seem like a river or the bottom or somewhere else?
Just wondering where you all put yours. thanks!

I would put it on the side panel mid way up and point it slightly towards the surface to create a ripple effect, that magnum 8 is going to blow your new bahias all over the tank :)

haha if i knew you were up i would have just texted you.

Yea thats kinda what i am hoping for , not violently though ofcourse. just wanna get the river look and not a stagnent pond. read that alot of flow was good for em

I always kept my power heads pointed towards the bottom. Less "Dead" spots in the tank. I usually keep the FX5's pointed towards the top, Just to break the water surface.

hows that working with peas? ive read in some other places that the high current should be somewhat uptop and the lower towards the bottom so the fish have the opportunity to rest

What did you pay for that powerhead? Im looking to pick one up to get some more movement on the bottom so the debris doesnt sit right in the middle.

And can you turn that one off w/out unplugging it? For feeding purposes. Have a lazy tig and bichirs.
