Can u sex them at 2 inches? Also are they easy to breed? Are they the same as the red head tapajos?

tapajos are a form of Geophagus...

I highly doubt they can reliably be sexed at 2"... I've had a couple of pairs and have grown out a couple of broods. In my experience the dominant males have more blue/green in their face/body and develop a red hump when they hit sexual maturity (3"+)... females and subdominant males are hard to distinguish apart.

i meant 3 inches sorry. I read that red hump geophagus is geophagus steindachneri. Is this true? So the red hump geophagus isnt the same as the geophagus red head tapajos.

Ok first off they are totally different species. Google geophagus steindachneri (red hump) and Geophagus sp. red head tapajos and you'll see the difference. Steindachneri has a clear hump with red on the crown, where as sp. red head tapajos has a orange coloration on their head with no hump.

Sexing you can tell a difference at 3". My lfs has about 25 in right now and there are clear males with humps and they are in the 2" range.
