Ok, I was gave a hatchling Savannah Monitor, and he is doing splendid but I am still setting his cage up and I have a question about Humidity levels in relation to Savannahs. There seems to be no clear answer on how low or high it should be with everything from around 10% to high at 80%. Many insist that since they are from an Arid area they humidity needs to be low but as a Sulcata Tortoise owner I call BS on this since they are from arid regions as well and like to stay humid in their hides. Right now I am keeping him at a constant 80% humidity, but I would like clarification from other owners here.

Actually they experience ALLOt of humity in several parts of their range. I would say medium term, 80% humity is too much even for some forest species, go for 60 % humity in some areas and lower in others.
