Is there a difference between the lamprologus and the neolamprologus names? I've seen them used interchangeably, but neo's gonna mean something.
I like the ocellatus, but that's the only one i've really researched. anyone else have any other shell dwellers to recommend would be appreciated. someone said malfsomething or another. idk. cheerio.

The neos are less likely to be actual shell dwellers, like the leleupi, brichardi, bucheri. The neolamprologous ocellatus are very nice fish, but I have heard that the males will fight and they are difficult to sex. I have a nice little colony of neo. brevis which also come in a gold form. The neolamprogous malferese(?) were featured in Aquarium Fish Int. last month and are a striking fish but may be in the same complex as ocellatus.

so what is the smallest shell dweller there is? i was thinking about getting 2 of them in a tank with a sand/rock formation in the middle so they are not in eachother's line of sight
