Hey guys and gals, I have two oscars maybe an inch long and one silver arowona that's maybe 2 inches. I'm looking to try and add one more fish. My question is are there any ciclids that aren't aggressive? I've had Africans in the past and they are just to damn mean. They are fine with oscars in my experience but never had an arowona until now and he just seems like they would destroy him. But I'm just looking for one more fish to add in to my tank and that'll be it. Anyone have any suggestions on what would be ok without having any aggressive nature once added and in the future? The oscars will eat the arowana soon. Give them a few weeks it'll be dinner.

You really think so? The oscars are small and don't even mess with him at all right now. I figured they'd grow together and it wouldn't be a issue. Also I don't over feed but I do make sure the arowona gets plenty of food every time I feed hoping he can grow a little faster then the oscars. Also I read so much before getting and saw that several people house the two fish together with zero issues.
Yes that's no issue usually but a 2" arowana a blow to it is deadly very fragile at that size I know this I have 3 at that size right now I'm growing out.
I thought it was a good idea to keep them with my 1" cichlids and yeah they ate him within a week lol
You might be able to get away with it since it's such a huge tank. Honestly there's a good chance the Oscar can eat the arowana in a few weeks to months.

Thanks I appreciate the advice. I'll keep an eye on it and if there is any issues I'll make some arrangements. I had a two inch peacock bass to that I had to put in another tank because he was being the bully which is just strange because the other peacock's I've had never caused any trouble.
Sounds like the tank needs a bottom fish. Maybe a medium sized catfish or a bichir like an ornate or endli.
hey. i would suggest a male venustus because they get fairly large but not very aggressive when single.
Thanks for the reply. I've actually had one and you're right it wasn't to aggressive. It gave one tiger barb hell but left everything else alone. I love the color of the these too.
