question about tank size

i have a dumb question(i know there are no dumb questions, just dumb people). Anyway i was given a tank and am haveing trouble trying to figure out what size it is. It's a bowfront so i can't find any way of calculating the volume for it. it measures 21" high 36" long and the width goes from 12" to 15" at the center. i thought it was a 46 gallon but i have a friend who tells me it is larger. Anybody have any idea or anything close to this tank?

a 36x15x21 works out to 47 us gal so a bowfront would probably be about 42 us gals.just a guess though

yeah 46 is about right what i did was take the average width of the tank 13.5 and did the math that way and i got 44.25


even though its more like 45 it would be sold as a 46 more then likly
