I just made my own trickle filter with two ball valves on the suction and discharge my discharge is wide open and I am throttling the water level with my suction, but it is so touchy that the water will not stay at one point it is either going up or going down. Can anyone help me to solve this problem thanks

Do you have an overflow or are you siphoning directly from the tank?

Look into building or buying an overflow, you'll have nothing but headaches without it. Especially with power outages, how do you plan to stop the siphon?

Right now I have two shut off valves but at the moment since I just built it I am shutting it off when I am not at home

Like I said, nothing but headaches.

I guess I'm a little behind with filtering innovations as I have never heard of this type of overflow before...Sounds interesting and I like what I read on their site but lol @ "Dope aquarium stuff".

They make fun of theirselves a lot and don't take themselves too seriously. They are good people though and make a very good product.
