Question about UV sterilizers

OK i have a question, would it be safe or even a good idea to cut the tube leading from my sump pump to my tank and running a UV sterilizer in between the pump and tank? or should i set up some other way with an additional pump for the UV sterilizer? any ideas or thoughts would be awesome as always.

That would be ok, as long as it is on the output side of your system and make sure the flow rate does not overcome the wattage of your u.v. system. If the flow rate is too fast for the wattage uv then it will not be effective.
