ok so im trying to decide wether or not to get an armatus, but had a few questions..
is there any difference between vamp tetra, payara and armatus? or are they the same thing? i looked it up and it said theyre the same but diff nicknames.. also how do you tell if you have a Rhaphiodon or scomb whats the differences between the 2? and should i keep these in a group or could i do single? and dont worry about tank size i got that covered..

Vampire tetra is a trade name that the suppliers and store owners lazily use to label the fish in this group.Payara is more of a term that is used by the locals where the fish are collected.....The three main Hydrolicus fish in the hobby are H. scomberiodes, tatauia, and armatus. The armatus is the fastestgrowing and most agressive of the three...The Raphiodon vulpinus has the long, straight shaped body and it lacks the long teeth in the lower jaw that the Hydrolicus fish have.
