So i finally got my LFS to bring in payara and it got here and its a red tail, It looks real nice, about 6". but of course i really wanted a armatus.
they want 80 for it.

Is a Red tail as cool and satisfying to own as a armatus?
and how do you get a armatus? I havent ever found one.

also i have a scomb will it ever get cool? or should i "lose" it

There are vendors here who can ship you an Armatus if you are ready for one...The redtail is kind of like a subdued armatus and they don't grow as big...I don't know what you mean when you ask about the scomb ever becomming cool but it should be good company for the tat.

i couldn't find a vendor selling them which one?
sorry i meant will the scomb ever get bigger than 3" and become a cool tank addition. and whats a tat

Tat = Red tailed payara = Hydrolycus Tatuaia

But a scomb should grow pretty quick up to around 6". As long as your feeding a good diet of live healthy feeders. Mine always did anyway.

IMO scombs and Tats become cooler the more you get. 1 scomb or 1 tat is kind of boring at times. But 3-5 of etheir or both is pure beauty in a tank.

Also IMO there is no replacement for the shear size and aggression of armatus. But scombs and tats are what anyone should get if they dont have a 400g+ tank setting around.
