Hi guys maybe someone could give me some input on this. i have a friend who is a local breeder who sells to alot of the fish stores in my area and he crossed a pink con and a red bp and gave me one of the babies. now that being said his fish take forever to grow as he has so many diff kinds of fish and tanks he only feeds once a day so his babies are around 1.5 inches but the one he gave me i powerfed and now is like 3.5 inches and looks like a regular convict. i know he didnt give me a reg con so why isnt this fish showing any traits of the pink or bp? thanks for any info.

when a bp and a con breed...It makes a drab fish...Jelly beans are just short bodied pinks...I have seen a bp and con make pretty much 100% convict looking fry....

i have a synspillum that bred with a parrot and there is HUGE variety in color and body type in the fry.See if you can get a few more and grow them out and you'll get some interesting fish for sure IMO. Some may turn black and it will fade leaving cool orange, yellow, or red colors. Give the fish some time and see what happens.

i could understand that if the con was a plain con but both fish are pink or red (bp). thats why it doesnt make much since to me. the only thing i notice that different from a plain con is it grew super fast and doesnt seem to be slowing down.

Yup... They sell these for 5.99 at one of the lfs near me... Sometimes the fish just take on the traits of one of the parrent fish and not the other... You never know what your gonna get...

LOL... yeah you could... Never seen a 7" BP though or a 7" convict for that matter...

i have a 8-9inch female BP maybe kkp i dunno. she is like about 11years old, and is a breeding monster.

i also used to have a HUGE male convict, possible hybrid that was 8inches.
