Ok, so I just got my first HDTV yesterday. Its a 61" Samsung DLP and its an awesome tv. Now I'm still learning all this HD stuff, but I have a question regarding HD channels. Right now i'm just running basic Comcast cable w/o a cable box. There are a few channels that are broadcast in HD and the picture is amazing
For all the other channels in SD (standard definition), the image is really bad. It appears very fuzzy and grainy. I did some research yesterday and read that SD channels do not show well on HDTV's as its basically stretching out a smaller image to fit the 1920x1080 resolution and this is why it looks crappy.
Basically, this is what i've learned so far:
analog + HDTV = bad, ugly
analog + SDTV = good
HD + HDTV = OMG its so friggin beautiful i wanna cry
SO, my question is, who is the best service provider for HD channels and who has the most HD channels out there? Does HD coverage vary by location? Is the HD quality the same between Comcast, The Dish, DirectTV, etc??
Thanks!
