Hello big aro owners. I've got a question. Everyone knows aros jump. My aro jumped when he was spooked and would hit the top of the tank in my 125. Since I have moved him to a 240 he has not jumped once. Even if he is spooked he kinda turns water and dashes down the tank. That being said. How have your aros reacted? Do they seem to jump more if they do not have enough space to swim away? When my aro was 6-8" he would jump for the fun of it and smack the top of my tank lol. Now that he is 25+" he hasn't jumped.
That being said. My tank only stands about 4' off the floor. I'm considering opening the top of my tank so you can look over the top and look down into the tank . I would probably build a 12" glass wall around the perimeter of the tank in case someone jumped maybe they would be deflected in. The reason why I want to open the tank other than for looks is because my aro and bichirs come to the top a lot and its a great angle to see them surface to gulp air or food.
Here are some pics of my set up
This is kinda what my tank looks like without my current DIY screen top
The second pic shows the 1x2's ill use to frame in the glass sections.
Also pics of my DIY screen top

Okay let's hear the comments or any other suggestions
