Hey everyone,
It seems I can't get my dream tank of 180 Gallons (72 x 24 x 24) as its just too big and heavy till atleast a couple of years from now when I am in a more stable lifestyle.

My question is the following, do you guys think I would be satisfied with a 108 gallons all glass tank by Hagen instead, which has the dimensions of 60 X 18 X24? Or am I really going to miss the extra foot of lenght and 6 inchs of width?

I currently also have a 55 and 29 gallon tanks

Thanks!

well if its too long look into a 120 gallons [4x2x2] or 150 gallons [5x2x2]

but it all depends on what your stocking the tank with!

Compared to a 55 and 29, you won't miss the 180 over the 108.
You don't miss having something unless it's gone.
A 108 will look huge compared to what you have now, and in a couple years, the 180 will look more impressive than the 108. Plus you'll have and 108 AND a 180.

The only thing that concerns me about a 108 is I would rather have a tank wider than higher.Think about what you are going to put in it.That extra 6inches width may make the difference

If you're greedy like me, it's not going to be enough. What are you going to stock and how many fish you are going to stock?
Then neither will a 180. I have a 125,75, and 29 going right now.
None of them are "enough", because, yeah, I'm greedy too.
I'm waiting for the time within the next year that I can start on my 8'x8'x24" DIY plywood tank in the basement.
Get what you can handle now, and upgrade later.

Thanks for the quick feedback.

The pet stores around here don't offer the 150 gallons [5x2x2] (Never even heard of that footprint...interesting.

I can get the 108 (tank only) for $450 with tax, the 120 and 125 is $550.

I have been debating between the 120 and 108 all week...can't decide.

I think the 120 would be alot easier to make a stand for then the 108, easier for lighting as well right?

For stocking (coming out of my 55 gallon tank which will be kept dry for a year or two due to lack of space)

3 inch Red Oscar. I have had him for 3 months now
4 inch black shark. I have had him for 3 months now
6 inch Pleco I have had him for 1 year now
3 inch OB Peacock Best budy with my Oscar weirdly enough after 3 months
1 inch Tiger barb X 5 Have had them for a week
2 inch Green Terror Don't have one yet but will be buying soon

And not sure what else if anything else...

Thanks!
