Question for non-USA fish keepers

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here in India we rarely get native fishes of USA,unless we give a pre order for the fishes.

Very rare in India to see Bass and such... Not that it is not available but the price is just over the top... For instance recently I saw kilberi Bass (not sure where it's natively from) was priced at $650! For a 4" pair.... If generally they are the price that they go for I pretty much doubt it..

When I lived in Japan, it was not uncommon to see large mouths, sunfish, and assorted other NA natives in the better stores.

When my ship was in Japan, I found a shop with gars, sturgeon, and paddlfish from the US. Another shop that dealt with marine fish only carried bat rays, guitarfish, eastern sea robins, cali horn sharks, and garibaldi from the US.

Never, ever, have in seen Us fish in the Iberian Peninsula ( Portugal and Spain ).

My alligator gars had to come from Germany. now Germany and Holland is another thing. There you tend to find everything, but even so, Us fish must be a rarity.

I forgot, if we include fish outside of LFS's ( allready considered native ) we are stock full of small and large mouth bass. We just have to fish them.

But the big ones are allmost impossible to get on pellets, so I gave up a long time ago.

Are paddlefish stable in aquariums? Doesn't seem like they'd do to we'll in one even if it was pretty big.
