Hi oddball i'm directing this question to you as your knowledge bas is quite wide,
I've had most sucess treating serious illness in fish i want to save with furan 2
i've heard it's a bit on the toxic side but seem sto work wonders combined with salt and elevated temp
your opinion please?

I use furan 2 also on mostly cichlids and other well-scaled active fish. However, if my african cichlids contract dropsy (bloat), my meds of choice is Metronidazole (flagyl). For scaleless fish, sedentary species, and small-scaled species, I've experienced less 'toxic' side effects by treating with erythromycin instead of Furan 2.
