Hi

Sorry to try you directly through here but i don't know how else to contact you. I have been reading the discussion on the auto drip system with great interest and you posted in the discussion about the heat your return pumps produce. I am looking into setting up a large tank, 8x4x2 and was wondering what return pumps you use. I was looking at the sequence series but they are not submergible and wndered what was best to use. Your set up must be good as you have managed to breed so i would appreciate any advice you could give me.

I'll help you out here. Find a post T1KARMANN has made, then click his screen name to view his profile, then there should be an option to private message him. Copy and paste your question to him. Good luck.

I run a Bermuda 30,000 lph pump and 2 cheap pieces intrepied 18,000 lph

The 18,000 pumps don't seam to do that well in hard water and the impellers scale up but they are cheap pumps on £70 each and they run fine for 18 months then I just put a new impeller in one and put the other in a kettle de scaler the impellers are cheap £18 each

The Bermuda is a bit more expensive at about £400-450

All you need to do with all pond pumps is strip off all the casing that's the pre filter which you don't need in the sump as the sump is the pre filter
The part that sucks water in have a thread on it and you can buy or sometimes you get a ring that fits the thread just cut a mesh protection grill and put the ring over it just to be safe

When you get a sump made make the return compartment about 9-10 inch then you will be able to fit most pond pumps in without the case

I will pm you my number
