I have been interested in starting a monster tank for years, and am finally starting to plan. After much elimination I have it down to 2 options Im most interested in:

1. Single Jardini

2. Peacock Bass Community

I am thinking that a 72" x 24" x 24" 180 gallon tank is what I will get.

Question is do you think I would be happier with the one Jar over the community and why???

I would go for a bass tank with a jar. If the jar stay's mellow enough, you get the best of both worlds. I have 2 bass 1 jar and a bunch of Central American cichlids in a 240.
So far so good. You can always take the Jar out later if needed.

I would scrap the 180 and go with a 240 and do a bass community with a Jardini !!!!

im not a marine but i would say the bass. or if you go with a larger tank both.

I have a 300 with a jardini and a giant gourami.

If it was the jardini alone I would still love it. That fish is a beast.

Jardini all the way...but look which forum you are posting in :)

in my opinion get a little bigger tank in terms of width about 30" should do well
and get the jar and the bass together(start small and grow them monster), and that will be a monster tank you will relish

Skip the 180 and get a 240 and get 2 Pbass + one Jar
