I am getting ready to start up my 90 Gallon Acylic tank and i ordered Texas holey rock. So my question is to help protected the bottom on my tank i want to put a piece of plexaglass on the bottom between the rock and the tank bottom so can i use any kind of plexaglass or do i have to use acylic or somehting else:( . I have polycarbon plexaglass is this ok to use??? Can anybody help me please!!
Thank you

Yep, you have the right idea. As you are placing the rock, add water to the tank to just cover the largest rock (if it isn't already full). This will take the pressure off the contact points.

Why not use egg crate? I imagine it would be cheaper than acrylic.

I prefer eggcrate for this too but a piece of acrylic will work too

well, eggcrate at least allows water flow through it. i worry that the plexiglass will warp a little under the weight of the rock, and allow debris and anaerobic bacteria to build up underneath. that would be a time bomb for the tank.

I already have the Plexiglass and a piece of acrylic but i just wanted to make sure before i put them in. So is it alright or not??
