what's the longest road trip you've ever taken to get something related to our hobby?:popcorn:


i've driven from nyc to virginia about 7 hours each way to get a free 150 gallon full set up off craigslist. Sold it to my cousin for $500 :headbang2
 
Big tanks on craigslist are rare in my area. Usually tops off around a 125g for $400-$500. So when I found a 210g with stand, new, never set up for $500; I drove 2.5 hours each way to pick it up.
 
just like to point out im about 45 minutes from the virginia border, therefore i hate you for finding that. haha.

J/K good find man, i've never taken any long trips for anything, longest was an hour and 15 to the LFS because of traffic, usually takes a half hour or so :P
 
I drove 3 hrs once to get what appeared to be a nice 125 stand and canopy. Got there and the stand was ruined and water logged. I did however get 125 tank, stand, canopy, 55g, ac110, xp3, gravel and heaters for $100. Sold the tank for $100 when I got home to a girl who wanted it for turtles, sold the ac110 for $35, xp3 for $75 and my uncle completely refinished the stand and canopy in a satin black for $35 and I have a 150g sitting on it now and would never part with it. I actually posted the set up for sale and had people that wanted to buy it but when it came time, I coudln't sell it.
